If you are a post-leaving cert student or a mature student with an interest in teaching, this course is for you. Our certificate in Education and Training provides an essential foundation for anyone aspiring to a career in education.

This course is designed to develop your skills, deepen your knowledge, and build valuable practical experience before progressing to higher education.

This course gives learners the opportunity to explore the teaching profession and its core methodologies. It provides a broad understanding of educational systems and teaching practices in Ireland.

Minimum Entry Requirements

A minimum of 5 passes at Ordinary level in the Leaving Certificate or its equivalent
Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme
Leaving Certificate Applied
QQI Level 4 Award

Work Experience

Work experience placement is an integral part of this course. Students must obtain one day per week work experience for the academic year. The day will be specified by the College.

Costs

A student services contribution of €50 is payable on registration. The purpose of which is to cover services, materials, and supports including printing, photocopying, library, student cards etc. This is non refundable. Additional Course Costs may apply.

Progression

The full QQI Level 5 Award facilitates entry on a competitive basis to a range of third level institutions.
