The Higher Education Links Scheme facilitates progression to a variety of higher education courses via specific FETAC Level 5 awards and Level 6 Advanced Certificates. Under this scheme a number of places are reserved by higher education institutions for FETAC applicants for entry to a range of third level courses. For details of specific linked awards and/or additional or specific module requirements please contact the Admissions Office of the individual higher education institutions or visit www.cao.ie or www.fetac.ie
Learners applying to the CAO via a FETAC award should ensure that their qualification meets the minimum entry requirements of higher education institutions. For example, whilst a FETAC Certificate may be achieved over a period of time, it may be a requirement that an applicant’s full award must be achieved in a single sitting. Similarly, some institutions may require Maths in addition to an applicant’s FETAC Award to meet their minimum entry requirements.
WCFE/WIT CO-OPERATION AGREEMENT
WIT will consider making admission offers to applicants from WCFE who have applied via the CAO by February 1st of year of entry, and who satisfy all criteria for the designated Waterford Institute of Technology programmes as set out in the Co-operation Agreement between Waterford Institute of Technology and Waterford College of Further Education, including all additional work components. Candidates who are deemed eligible for an offer will be made an offer through CAO in advance of Round 1.
Further details are available from the WIT School’s Liaison Office.
