WCFE Graduation 2016

Photograph by Noel Browne
Waterford College of Further Education held its annual Graduation ceremony recently at the WIT arena. The ceremony  was an audio visual feast set in the gladiatorial setting of the WIT sports campus. Here though the theme was the arena of the mind, the expansion of thought, ambition, freedom and achievement.
Hundreds of graduates in over 30 different academic disciplines received their laurel of educational achievement. Speakers on the night focused upon possibilities and the unique track  that each of us are on. Graduates were urged to continue training their mind, embrace opportunities and expand their influence into the grander arena that is life.

Halloween Party at WCFE

Halloween Party at WCFE

A spooky end to the first term, with tricks and treats abounding. Staff abandoned all pretence and showed their true faces for one day only, revelling in the spirit of the witching hour. Cauldrons boiled and pumkins grinned menacingly, while black cats pawed luxuriously across feast heavy tables. Another magic moment in WCFE, with one unnoticed and univited guest, who watched and disappeared without a trace............

WCFE Soccer Teams in Bid for League Glory

Waterford College of Further Eduation is off to a superb start this season, fielding two outstanding teams in a bid for League glory in the College Football Association, Bob Eustace Cup and Women's Soccer Colleges Association of Ireland.

An almost unbroken winning record over foes such as CIT and DCU means that the College is in pole position coming into the more intense stages of the League and hopes are high that WCFE will make its mark on the national soccer stage this year. #wcfewinners

Christmas Day celebrations were recently held at the College, including a gigantic Dunktank, an intense sport and fitness challenge and a live performance by sound engineering students on campus. The College was alive with Christmas spirit and daytime parties and festivities were topped off by a huge night out in the ever popular local nightspot, the Kazbar. The events were structured to raise money for the local Marine Search and Rescue and over 270 euro was raised from the Dunktank alone, keeping up the WCFE tradition of supporting its community.
