Night Courses Spring 2010

Strength and Fitness for Sport and Physical Activity


This course is designed to enable participants to design their own fitness regime. It equips the participants with the core concepts of programme design, exercise selection, nutritional requirements to maximise outcomes in any fitness orientated setting. This course aims to correct misinterpretations regarding exercise and fitness and to instil confidence regarding course design. This course is suitable for all interested in fitness and body sculpting, amateur volunteer coaches, parents of active children, amateur fitness enthusiasts, and general athletes.

• Introduction to course
• Six basic movements of success
• Exercise technique and selection
• Choosing the right programme for you
• Beginner/Introductory programmes
• Fat loss programmes
• Hypertrophy (muscle building)
• Strength programmes
• Sports specific training concepts
• Back Health
• Super stretches
• Nutrient timing for sports and physical activity

Duration: 30 Hours 25th Jan 2010 – 19th April 2010

Sessions: Monday evenings 6.30pm – 9.30pm

Cost: €180

Student requirements: Training apparel, A4 notepad, and pen.
