Start your Own Business

FETAC Level 5 Start Your Own Business (B20153)

Course Description

This module is designed to provide the skills required to start a business and the knowledge to understand the issues involved in doing so. It will provide the learner with the real life experience of investigating and evaluating a business idea. Suitable for those who wish to acquire the skill to set up their own business, those wishing to move on to something new and those who through unemployment wish to investigate other business opportunities.

Certification: FETAC Level 5 Certificate of Achievement.

Course Content:

• The Business Environment
• Planning and Decision Making
• The Business Plan
• Implementation
• Evaluation and Review

The course teaches the student to differentiate between different business structures, to describe political, economic, social and technical factors that affect entrepreneurial activity. It enables the student to identify the internal and external factors that affect business while identifying the legal factors that affect the setting up of a business in the current market.

Duration: 60 hours. Jan 25th 2010 – 21st April 2010

Sessions: Monday and Wednesday evenings 6.30pm – 9.30pm
