Night Courses Spring 2010
Self Development

The aim of this course is to provide an opportunity for students to discover the vast opportunities that lie within themselves, to explore their creativity and perhaps their relationships with themselves and others.

Opjective: the students will recognise that they have choices and the responsibility is theirs.

Week 1: Aspects of self and self awareness.
The students will become aware that they are the total sum of all their parts and more, as all these parts interact with one another.

Week 2: Self Acceptance
The students will learn to see themselves as they are , not as they wish they were, which in turn will help them to accept others as they are.

Week 3: Stress
The students will identify their areas of stress and choose their behaviours to change.

Week 4: What is needed for a life that is fulfilling?
The students will look into what makes them tick and what their basic needs are.

Week 5: Relationships
What are they, what do they want, what goes wrong?

Week 6: Components of a relationship
The students will investigate what is needed for a relationship to work with 10different aspects.

Week 7: Concepts of a relationship
The students will discuss what they do with the four concepts of a relationship

Week 8: Different exercises demonstrating trust.
The students will participate in different ways of recognising how they trust.

Week 9: Sexuality and Relationships
The students will reflect on their behaviour and discuss their understanding of sexuality

Week 10: Total Behaviour.
The students will examine how they behave by looking at their thinking, actions, feelings and their physiology.

Students will need to bring a notebook, journal, a large pad for drawing, colour pencils, crayons or felt pens, whatever they feel comfortable with.

The course will engage the students in exercises, discussions and therefore they need to be ready to participate.

Duration: 10 weeks 27th January 2010 – 21st April 2010

Sessions: Wednesday Evenings 6.30 pm – 9.30pm
