This course proposes
an introduction for Basic Film Techniques.
This course is designed to bring the students step by
step through the key stages of basic film production
beginning with the student’s idea right up until
the final exhibition.

The aim of this
course is to pre-plan, develop, shoot, edit and deliver
an original digital movie from scratch. With step by
step development from a student’s own work or
working together as part of a team. The students will
experience a firsthand practical introduction to the
film production giving them the knowhow to create their
own masterpiece.

one

• Shot list/break down of script in two shots

• Shooting formats 4:3, 16:9, 1080i ...
Week Three
• introduction to pinnacle,
• Editing story board on pinnacle,
• Making SFX List
• Exporting from pinnacle.
Week Four
• Editing

• Presentation to class and feedback Group discussion
on work.
Week Five
• Introduction to Lighting design
• Introduction to Camera techniques
• Introduction to sound recording
• On set techniques/ roles of crew again.
Week six
• Working
with actors/crew
• Time keeping – call sheets,
• Permissions/ contracts/ copyright/ budgeting
Week seven
• Rushes and
tape labelling
• Takes and logging info
• Media management
• Digitizing setup
• Organising digitized rushes.

Week eight
• Picture
