Course Description

This module is designed to support the learner in their understanding, exploration and reflection on diversity and equality issues. This will prepare the learner for working with children from all backgrounds and their families. Learners will be introduced to concepts and issues concerning diversity and equality. The module will raise awareness about the importance and relevance of diversity and equality matters in childcare practice.

Certification: FETAC Level 5 Record of Achievement

• Diversity Education: Theory and Approaches
• Role of the Practitioner in Promoting Equality
• Diversity and Equality in Childcare Practice

Duration: 60 hours (10 weeks) 25th Jan 2010 – 21st April 2010

Sessions: Monday and Wednesday evenings 6.30pm – 9.30pm
