Ceramics
Whether you are
interested in pursuing a career in the craft design
area or simply looking for a way to relax and de-stress
this could be the course for you. The basic hand building
skills are covered starting with pinch pots and moving
on to coil and slab building techniques. You will learn
to decorate with glazes, under glaze colours and slips
and finally loading and firing a kiln. The core of the
course is for each individual to develop their own design
ideas and creativity in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Students can expect to produce at least two finished
pieces of unique work by the end of the ten-week course.

• Getting a feel for clay, pinch pots
• Basic coil building methods
• Developing a design idea from start to finish/test

• Making the first coil piece.
